Why carpet tiles instead of broadloom

Carpet tile goes down in modular squares, so a spill, a puppy accident, or a water event only costs you a tile instead of a whole room. Danny Boy Flooring Company installs carpet tile for homeowners across Raleigh & the RDU who want an easy, repairable floor.

The backing handles dampness better than stretched carpet, which makes tile a practical answer for slab-on-grade basements and below-grade rec rooms. It's the same reason many families pair it with standard carpet in the upstairs bedrooms.

Why carpet tiles instead of broadloom

Where carpet tile works best

We recommend carpet tile anywhere a floor takes a beating or needs flexibility. Many of our Creedmoor, Oxford, and Durham customers use it for the following spaces.

  • Finished basements and walk-out lower levels
  • Home offices where chair casters wear traditional carpet quickly
  • Playrooms and hobby rooms
  • Garage apartments and rental units
  • Studios and workout spaces

Fibers, patterns, and finishes

Carpet tile is available in nylon, polyester, and blended fibers, in low loops or plush textured cuts. Quarter-turn and random layouts hide seams and make a modular floor read as one continuous surface.

How we install it

We test slabs for moisture, clean and prep the subfloor, then lay tile with the adhesive recommended for the product and the room. We keep a few spare tiles with you so future repairs match the original dye lot.

How we install it

Carpet Tiles - frequently asked questions

Yes, and that's the most common use. We check moisture and flatness first so the adhesive and tile perform the way the manufacturer intends.

On most modern tiles the seams fade into the pattern within a few weeks. Textured and patterned styles hide them from day one.

Lift the tile, clean or replace it, and press a fresh tile in its place. Keeping a few spares from your original order makes this painless.

It can be, especially with moisture-resistant backing. If you're unsure whether tile or carpet is better, ask us during your estimate. Comparing with hardwood? Serving Oxford and nearby, we're happy to talk it through.
